Sole Tore First Month - by , Sep 28, 2018

This is my first and last pair of Chacos. Straps tore through the footbed the first month. I wasn’t abusing them, just trying to put them on one morning. Don’t have the box, otherwise I would try to send them back. Wasted my money.

Made a great present, eventually. - by , Jul 25, 2017

I gave it 3 Stars because there probably wasn't anything wrong with the shoe. It was lighter, as promised. The straps worked. The buckle worked. I gave it 3 Stars because I didn't enjoy the shoe. The foot bed has some visually fun pattern that is physically uncomfortable. To have the strap not chafe at the toe required a floppy fit. Plus my current water/hiking shoe gives a similar secured experience in mud, but weighs a fraction, has better grip, and is more comfortable. So not only did I not like wearing the shoe, but the was no need to like it. (This isn't an advert for another shoe company, so I'll be leaving out the alternative's name.) My brother wears them on the regular. Perhaps he should have written this.

Very different from other Chacos - by , Sep 25, 2018

Let me first say that I love Chacos and these are my fourth pair. These fit way differently from the others; the heel part is super narrow and the back strap is way too loose. This means my foot jumps all over when walking and causes blisters due to the narrow foot bed. I've never had this issue with Chacos, I've even backpacked with them as my main shoe!

Great out of the box, but does not stand the test of time - by , Jul 04, 2019

I love the concept of these sandals; a lighter weight more streamlined version of a chaco sandal.out of the box, these were great. They had all the elements of a chaco sandal that value: Good grip, comfort, durability, and simplicity. However, after about 10 months of use, the slits in the foot bed the straps come out of began to tear. The straps themselves 2, began to tear at the entrance point despite "flossing" the straps. This seems highly atypical of other chocolate products and others seem to have experienced the same problem. I think it may be related to the material used in this sandal's foot bed. Unfortunately, the volv does not have one of the most important characteristics of a chaco sandal, durability.

Good Shoe - by , Jun 17, 2015

Compared to my other pairs of Chacos, these are very light. The only draw back I had was hiking with these. These are great around town, but I will wear my Z/2 next time I go hiking.

Buying Chacos as a gift was tricky - by , Feb 11, 2016

I bought these for my boyfriend for Christmas. He wears a size 10 in his sneakers, but the size ten sandal was way too big. I exchanged it for the 9, but that size was also too big. Having to make a separate return for those, I immediately purchased the size 8. I'm still waiting on a refund from the returned exchanged shoes! I would recommend always buying small and then changing for bigger if needed.

Makes me happy - by , Feb 13, 2016

I thought I would go for a men's pair of size 8 (I'm a woman's 9.5 wide) and they fit like a glove. Super happy with the fit and the feel. I am used to the classic Z and the arch is a bit lower, I like the higher arch, but I think this is going to be a fabulous pair to keep me rocking for another two years!

Good but not the original - by , Feb 23, 2016

This was my second pair of chacos. I originally had the z/2 and I fell in love with everything about it. This footbed seems to get really slippery when wet but it is still comfortable. I like the more low profile sandal but at the same time it's just not as good as the original z sandals. But still a great sandal. If you are a first time buyer I wouldn't go for this sandal; I would go for the original Zs first just so you understand what chacos really are to begin with.

Nothing wrong with sticking with a timeless classic, but for a lighter feel there exists the Z/Volv! Thank you for sharing!

The straps are easy to adjust and fit comfortably across my toe and foot. The sole is comfortable and well made.
