We invited the public to design our next sandal strap through our epic DESIGNAPALOOZA competition. After reviewing hundreds of creative submissions, five standout finalists emerged. After public voting, Sarah Adams claimed the win with her creative and original Eastern Tiger Swallowtail Butterfly design. About Sarah and her design: “These straps are crafted from sliced images of a close-up I took of the scales from a female Eastern Tiger Swallowtail Butterfly. As a Horticultural Extension Agent, I spend my days helping others connect with the natural world through education and advocacy. My own yard is a fully native landscape, designed to support every stage of life for local wildlife—from pollinators to songbirds. This Chaco design reflects that mission: planting native flora, supporting native fauna, and celebrating the natural beauty that makes North Carolina so special. It’s a small but meaningful piece of my passion to protect what makes our home unique and to inspire others to do the same.”
