My boyfriend loved these so much, they were his first pair of chacos. I got him the Grateful Dead pattern and they was so colorful!

Straps too long - by , Sep 30, 2020

I’m not sure why the straps are so long. Maybe Chaco thinks that the human foot is much larger than science suggests.

They don't make them like they used to... - by , Sep 25, 2020
3/ 5 Stars
I bought my first pair of Chacos in 2003 and didn't need to buy another pair until 2010 (tread wore thin and my dog chewed the nylon tension strap). I have bought at least four pairs in the intervening decade at various retailers and of various design (z1, z2, flip flops) and have been disappointed with the craftsmanship and quality- soles de-laminated from the bed after 3 seasons, skinny "trendy" straps wore through after 2 seasons and more than anything these new sandals were not as supportive or comfortable. I chalked this up to the disappearance of Vibram soles and appearance of softer foot beds in mass retail pairs. I finally decided to spring for the custom option to get a Vibram sole, the Colorado tread and hopefully regain the support and durability retail pairs seemed to lack from 2010 on. I am not convinced. Don't get me wrong, they look amazing, are perfectly to spec, and are very comfortable so far, but within THREE DAYS of average to below average use, the adhesive that attached the logos to the side of the sandal had failed. Customer service offered to do a warranty repair, but I just got them and didn't want to waste the last bit of sandal weather sending them back to the factory so they're sending me new logos at my request with a recommendation to use super glue. Keeping this review focused on the product and not the service I received, my complaint is that there's obviously a quality control issue, even with a US made, supposedly top of line product. I have concerns that if they're using the same glue to attach the soles, the problems with these sandals are just beginning. When I asked about this, it was never addressed. If the soles do fail and the warranty has expired, I'll just have to shell out again for ReChaco or a new pair even though there is a demonstrable problem with the glue. It feels a little bit like the business model is relying on engineered obsolescence (not very sustainable, ya'll!) instead of long haul products that inspire loyalty. The quality of materials has obviously declined and pricing does not reflect that.

Sandals are super comfortable and great fit - by , Aug 30, 2020
5/ 5 Stars
Sandals are comfortable right out of the box! They fit as expected and I like the customizable choices for straps, footbed and tread. First time with the Chaco grip tread but am loving it so far. This is my fourth pair of Chacos in 16 years, great longevity with each pair.

I LOVE my custom Chacos! I even did a custom print strap this time. They turned out better than I could ever have imagined. They are beautiful and oh so comfortable. I get so many compliments on them every time I wear them. They are spectacular.

Custom Tie Dye Men’s Z/1 - by , Aug 20, 2020

Beautiful! The only thing is that my husband’s original pair [of many years] either did not have the size on the back of the sole or it had worn off. I measured his original sole in cm and checked size chart [Japan sizing converts to cm]. When he received his custom tie dye pair the footbed looked somewhat bigger than his original pair. The next size down may have suited him a bit better as he is not a half size like me.

the wide shoe was great but straps were not long enough - by , Aug 17, 2020

I wish I could order a new pair of wide size 7 Chacos with longer straps. Footbed is the right size but straps are all the way lose. getting a custom pair of size 8 wides to make up for it

Love the foot beds, sized down - by , Aug 11, 2020

Replacing an old pair with new custom z1 Chacos. I wear size 10 In most shoes but my prior size 10s were a little too long. Sized down to 9, go the cushy foot bed, super comfortable from day 1, appreciate softer webbing. Champs are the best!

Great fit and look! - by , Aug 11, 2020

I just got my second pair of custom chacos in the past two years and love wearing them everywhere! The craftsmanship on them has been amazing each time and they fit and look great. My only sizing advice is to go down to the nearest full size if you are a half size. I went up in my first pair, but they ended up being slightly bigger than I would have liked, but still work and fit great! Be sure to break them in slowly when you get them at first to not get blisters, but if you take your time, you'll have no problems and be hiking in no time!! Love the ability to design my pairs completely custom, including a custom strap design.
