Comfortable, versatile, rugged I originally bought a pair under the reccomendation of countless friends and co-workers, being told that they were the best outdoor footwear available. Everybody was right. Spending a lot of time working in the outdoor industry, going in and out of water and sand, I did get a couple of blisters at first during my Chaco-transition, but they disappeared after a few weeks. To that end, if you are likely to wear these often in water or in the wilderness, be wary that like any other sandal, they can rub your feet if not adjusted properly. Additionally, I would CONSIDER buying a size larger than normal if and only if you wear them in water very often; this is just my personal opinion, but an extra half inch of sandal can prevent a lot of painful stubbed toes, and if the shoe is a little looser it is much easier to shake out debris. All in all, wonderful shoe for both work and play. Get a pair!

I Hated sandals UNTILL MY CHACOS!!! I have always worn shoes and socks not sure why just always have. Then a few years ago I started having flare ups of gout and other issues with my feet. I bought a cheap pair of flip flops for when I had a gout flare up which was alright but still hurt like hell with the gout. I was apposed to spending so much on sandals of any kind. Then one flare up that was really bad I gave in. Why I originally looked at the Z1 was it did not have a piece of material between my BIG TOE and I could tighten the rest of the straps and leave the front strap loose during a gout flare up. I wore my Z1s for a week and a half day in and out during that gout flare up and yes there was a bit of braking in but they got real comfortable to wear. So much that when my gout flare up was done with and I could wear shoes again I didn't unless I had to for work or whatever. I have now been wearing my Z1s for a year and a half and am looking to buy a pair of PEDSHEDS so I can wear MY CHACOS year round and every where I need to. Thank you.

Great - as always. I bought my first pair five years ago by mistake - they happened to be on sale when I was buying sandals at the beginning of the summer. By the end of the summer I was regretting that I would soon need to start wearing "real" shoes. By November I was still wearing my Chacos - with socks (ignoring the glances...). I equipped myself for rainy days by carrying a pair of dry socks in my pack. I kept putting off switching to winter shoes until in March I realized that the winter was ending and I hadn't given up my comfortable Chacos yet. Last week I bought my sixth pair and I wear them every day in every season for every occasion. I have friends who tell similar stories. These sandals should come with an addiction warning.

Great Z sandals This is my second pair, my first were with toe loop, and I have to say that this model is more comfortable, but I love the extra support from the toe loop, I'll use this sandals for traveling and walking around and my old z2 for biking and hiking.
