Z/1® Unaweep Sandal

I bought my first chacos ever!! I was looking for something to help with my falling arches. I have have trouble finding shoe and sandals that have enough support. I first got them and had to get them on. They felt great on my feet. This past weekend i thought I would put them to the test of comfort. I often get tired feet after a short time wearing sandals and my knees, feet and back hurt the next day. Not this time I wore my chacos and was pain free all day. Thank you Chacos for making a great product!!!

I am a huge sandal wearer, if it is 50+ degrees outside I am in sandals. And I have got to say that there are none better than the Z series from Chaco! All day comfort, great for any activity, tough, look good, and just plain easy to wear. Since buying my first (and still having them) pair 4.5 years ago I have hiked, swam, camped, and lived my everyday life in this pair of shoes, because they can honestly do anything. They have just the right amount of support for anyone, and the luvseat platform is great for keeping you biomechanically sound. I grew up going to Lake Mead often as a kid, and I would wear down my sandals every year at the end of summer no matter the brand. Though now with Chacos, I don't see that happening any time soon and that is what originally brought the brand into my life. I would not trade my Chacos for the world! I also recommend any of their shoes and boots too. Thanks Chaco!

So, Chacos have ruined boots and shoes for me. Well, it's not as bad as it sounds. Actually, its pretty awesome. Flash back to last year, 500 miles into the AT (Damascus). I was wearing Keen boots, and my feet killed. I was getting plantar fasciitis (even with Superfeet!!) pretty bad, and the bottoms of my feet would be so tender and sore at the end of my 15 mile days. I wasn't going to give up, but I was in pain. I decided to take a leap of faith, and bought a pair of Z1 Unaweeps at an outfitter along the trail, based off of 2 people's advice. And lo and behold...my hike was changed. I proceeded to hike another 1686 miles in the same pair of Chacos over the next 4 months. My plantar fasciitis disappeared. My soreness was gone. Sure, I had other (many) aches and pains, but none of them were related to my shoes. They were hands down the best gear-related choice I made on my thru-hike. What's more, they were the biggest conversation starter...people either thought I was crazy or awesome. When they heard I was thru-hiking in sandals (and socks, gotta keep up that hippie look), they decided I was awesome. My pair have seen better days now, but they're still holding up! I've superglued the soles several times, and I can't really see the tread anymore, but they're still the most comfortable thing to walk around the city in. I now work at an outfitter, and have made many customers very happy by recommending Chacos. The only thing I could possible ask for is an anti-smell footbed, but since that hasn't been invented yet, I won't hold you too responsible, Chaco.
