Zong

Got the Zong after destroying a pair of sandals on a hike looking for something a a bit more durable. Started out having issues getting the straps right but after some trial and error got them just right and after some wear time they've adjusted nicely to my feet. I will say the zong probably isn't your best bet as an off trail sandal which isn't its target selling area but for on the beach or a stroll through the city it's perfect. After wearing Teva's for years I have to say I'm impressed and love the brand now looking into a Custom Unaweep for the off trail adventures I go on!

I wore out my pair of Chongs, and the Chaco site recommended the Zong as a good second choice since the Chong was discontinued. I love the Zong too, and wore them a few miles on a dirt road right out of the box. Now I think I should buy a second pair just in case they are discontinued too. I am a woman, but the women's Z/2 has too much of an arch for my old feet. It took a while to get used to the Z/2 but they do stay put for rafting and kayaking. The only thing that would make the Zong better is the Colorado outsole for rainy days or creekbed fishing.

How do you most use this product?: Walking, gardening, trips to town... they work for just about everything except snowshoeing.

You'll never get me out of my Z2s for serious hiking and canoeing (like in the Grand Canyon), but the rest of the year, I'm in a pair of zongs! By the way, Chaco, how about bringing back a serious sole for wet slippery rocks (like the stealth or 5.10) for your Z2s? The GoPro sole doesn't cut it.
