Wanted A Pair for years - more than exceeded expectations - by , Oct 02, 2018
5/ 5 Stars
I've wanted to get a pair of Chaco's for a while, and once I finally pulled the trigger and bought them, I decided on the Z/Volv 2 and I'm so glad I did. It's a little less bulky, forms exactly to my foot, and am so happy with this purchase. I bought them about 5 months ago and have worn them literally almost every day since then. Work perfect as my main shoe and they're great for use as a hiking shoe, as well. Hoping they last a long while and when they have to be replaced in the distant future, I will no question pick up another pair of the same model.

Sole Tore First Month - by , Sep 28, 2018

This is my first and last pair of Chacos. Straps tore through the footbed the first month. I wasn’t abusing them, just trying to put them on one morning. Don’t have the box, otherwise I would try to send them back. Wasted my money.

Very different from other Chacos - by , Sep 25, 2018

Let me first say that I love Chacos and these are my fourth pair. These fit way differently from the others; the heel part is super narrow and the back strap is way too loose. This means my foot jumps all over when walking and causes blisters due to the narrow foot bed. I've never had this issue with Chacos, I've even backpacked with them as my main shoe!

The adjusting is fairly simple as it runs through the entire sole. Very comfortable and good for everything!

Perfect for any activity - by , Aug 09, 2018

This is my 4th pair of Chacos due to the others wearing out from heavy use. Still can't say enough about how great they are. I wear them everyday for work and play and have no complaints. If you're looking for a long lasting, comfortable sandal that gives you killer tan lines, these are for you. Don't even bother with the others out there, nothing compared to Chacos!

BEST CHACOS EVER MADE - by , Aug 01, 2018

This is my second pair of Z/Volv 2's and I didn't have to think much much about repurchasing them. I had my previous pair for 4 years and wore them around 340 days a year. These things had been around the world multiple times, hiked up plenty of alpine approaches, swam through caves and canyons, walked through knee deep mud, and so much more. I love the more aggressive tread and lightweight design compared to the classic Chaco that are too bulky for a lot of people. In their final days of my abuse, I had worn through the souls in a few parts, had cracking where the webbing secures, and eventually severed the webbing on a class 4 approach. THEY STILL WORKED! These sandals, even while completely worn out and broken, still got my safely down the mountain. I cant say enough about these things, well done Chaco. The only things that I would be interested in seeing is more color options for this sandal as that was the hardest part about repurchasing them, yikes.

Great innovation of the original Chacos - by , Jul 05, 2018

I have owned two pairs of Chacos Z/2 and Z/1 for 20 years now and have taken them everywhere from the Sierras to the Alps to Asia. I always thought they were sturdy and fit well but the soles were a bit too heavy for me to walk in all day and I had a size too big because I often tripped. I called Chaco customer service to ask the right size for the Volv/2 and they recommended going down a size to an 11 because I am between an 11 and 12 (45 Euro or 11,5 USA). The 11 fits perfect with almost no room (1/2 cm) left but it's ok-my feet are perfectly snug in this pair...a world of difference from the original Z/2s. These sandals are lightweight, fit way better than the Z/2 for my narrow flat feet, provide adequate support for my over pronating feet and can be worn all day without even noticing them on...now Chaco, this is the perfect sandal for me. I also like the perceived lower arch on these sandals vs the Z/2s. The footbed is soft and offers a less pronounced traction so it might get more slippery when wet. Also, I found that they were broken in from the first day compared to the originals which requires some shorter hikes to break them in. Color selection is limited but I only have black Chacos so no big deal for me. As I live in Amsterdam, I could not order from Chacos directly and no retailers stock Chacos in The Netherlands,...so Amazon fulfilled the order. BTW...My wife loves her Chaco Z/1s and has the same pair for 17 years...just noticed some wear on the Vibram treads but otherwise is good to go...excellent product! I stand by the brand.

Great shoe, for about a year. - by , Jun 14, 2018

I was the last one in my family to get chacos, and I love the brand. I have worn these pretty much everyday since purchasing them last August. That being said, wear and tear should be expected. However, my footbed is ripping where the straps enter, the straps are super frayed, and as far as I can tell, there isn’t a way to get the z Volv repaired. Again, I love this shoe as it is the best walking shoe I have ever owned, I just wish there was a repair option or alternative to repair. Great shoe, comfy, good support.

A high quality investment. - by , Jun 01, 2018

These sandals are priceless to have in the summertime. A great balance between shoes and flip-flops. The soles are comfortable and stay that way even for long walks around the city. Conversely, big toe strap and design keeps feet well-planted and supported on uneven/steep/wet terrain. The straps can become difficult to adjust after getting wet due to saturation expansion. I wonder if there is a good way to thoroughly dry the straps since they are partially embedded in the sole.
