Toe straps strangle my big toes
I purchased my sandals from Sun and Skii Sport about 3 months ago, I was fitted by their shoe salesman and was satisfied with the way the felt before leaving the store. Having owned Chacos in the past and having pretty tough feet, I then immediately hit the A.T. About a mile in to my trip I noticed my big toes were killing me, they were being strangled! I readjusted the straps and continued on. It wasn't but maybe an additional quarter mile until I had the same feeling. the straps had slipped back to the unwanted position and continued to constrict. Being that I had just spent over $100 on my new sandals as well as being in denial that Chaco was failing me, I persevered and continued to readjust my sandals about every 1/5 mile for the next 3 weeks. The whole time I was waiting for them to get better, waiting for them to stop readjusting on their own, and waiting for blisters... The blisters never came surprisingly, nor did the time when they stopped readjusting on their own. At first I blamed myself for not allowing them a chance for a break in period, even though my previous pair required no such period. Then after a few weeks I stopped blaming myself, for the issue had made zero progress. The toe straps STILL strangle my big toes! The only thing I can think of is the new Cloud sole, for whatever reason it allows the straps to slide too freely and as result strangles your big toe. Oh yeah the tail strap is pretty long, I suggest tying it neatly in a flat knot, same knot has stayed in place since the beginning. Not too sure if I'll buy another pair of Chacos but I most certainly will not buy the Cloud versions. The extra hype is just extra money in my experience.

You can usually alleviate the toe tightening with a quick cycle in the washing machine. Put them in a gentle setting with a load of towels and air-dry only. This should do the trick! If the discomfort continues please give the team a call at 888.211.1908. Thank you.

Comfortable but strap too long.
Have had chacos before and love the way they fit and the comfort, BUT the closure strap is very long and drags the ground. A sales person in a store told me to cut it shorter and burn the edge to prevent ravelling. I don't think I should have to cut off a nicely sewn edge.
