I really want to like these, however, they are rubbing my foot raw. I will try again after I heal.

Some can experience a short break in period with their new Chacos, but with time most everyone falls in love with them. If new to them we usually recommend is to break your feet into the sandals at a slower pace by wearing only a few hours at a time for 2-3 weeks. If we can help please give us a shout at 888.211.1908. Thank you!

Just didn't work... - by , Aug 27, 2019

I really, really wanted these to work but unfortunately they just don't. The strapping just didn't work for my feet I guess. I wore them in a few different situations (kayaking, fly fishing, creek swimming, etc.) and no matter how I adjusted the straps, they managed to come off. I have a fairly high instep and with the straps cranked down, the excess still hung to the ground which I found strange. No matter what I did to the adjustments, my foot managed to slip out of them and I was never doing anything super overly active. Contacted support and no chance of an exchange or return because they had been worn (5-6 times). Also said "I should've worn them around the house for a few hours first to be sure". Bummer. Save yourself the trouble and order something different. They look cool but not worth the hassle and when they don't work out, and then you're stuck with them...

Tegu - stepping into new adventures - by , Aug 26, 2019

This is my second pair of Chaco sandals first being a regular flip flop design. I have had the Playa style for nearly 5 years and they are still going. I was first hesitant of the design as I was comparing to the Z Cloud 2 model. They have the same outer sole, but the strap system is different. I was lucky enough that a friendly REI associate helped me adjust the straps out to figure out how to fit the sandals out of the box. The Z Cloud 2 felt more constricting on your big toe and the colors at REI were not too appealing. The Tegu cinches down on your entire foot such that they do not slip even without an ankle strap. The version I found was a blue and orange Woodstock 50th anniversary edition. Blue and orange are my favorite colors and the special edition was icing on the cake. The sole is very rugged for a sandal and could probably be used in most out door activities. I need the arch support in my footwear and Chaco always delivers without leaving my foot feeling like it needs to fall off into an ice bath. Although, it wouldn’t be a bad idea with the 100F weather in Texas.

Please bring back Zong! - by , Aug 16, 2019

My 20 year old Zong straps are finally wearing out and needed replacing. I tried to find them here but the closest match was the Tegu. I Have been wearing them for a couple of weeks and am disappointed. The two straps going between my big and second toe is not comfortable and they are difficult to slip into. I actually find myself going back to my Zongs even though they are about to fall apart rather than fighting to get into the Tegus. PLEASE PLEASE bring back the Zongs for men!

Not the same fit as your old Zong - by , Aug 02, 2019

I really loved my old Zong sandal but it was discontinued several years ago. I called a couple times to see if it was going to come back in men's sizes but never had a firm answer. When I saw the Tegu I thought it was going to be the same as the old Zong. I have now worn the Tegu for three weeks and it is just not as comfortable as the old Zong. My foot continues to slide back in the foot bed. I believe this is due to the toe straps. I am not positive, but I think the Tegu is not the same configuration as the old Zong. I would gladly buy the Zong again if you ever reintroduce it for men. I am going to stop wearing the Tegu because of the fit. The Tegu is just not the same fit as the men's Zong. Very sad.

Expensive Knock Off - by , Jul 29, 2019
1/ 5 Stars
This footwear is a far cry from its previous version including; thinner upper strap material and a less robust buckle. As of the writing of this review there is also no repair plan for this sandal so if you like them, don’t wear them out. Otherwise you will have to purchase a new set of what might be an even more inferior product than even this version.

This is my third pair of chacos and my legacy sandals were getting worn down. I'm glad to have a new pair in the style I prefer.

Tegu - Size correct but tough to keep on - by , Jul 16, 2019

I love the Tegu. The size was as expected. I had never owned a pair before so the fit is a little different. I'm getting used to the fit but it seems a little tough to keep on and tight comparing them to the normal chaco fit.

LOVE the TEGU like I did the ZONG!!! - by , Jun 12, 2019
5/ 5 Stars
I bought the TEGU after trying to find the now discontinued ZONG which was another heel-strap delete sandal. I love the old footbed that is similar to the ZONG or the older Model Chaco sandals. I have worn many iterations of Chaco sandals but these are my new favorite. I use them to Cycle in the HOT and HUMID Summer when shoes become ovens for your feet. They fit the niche between a flip flop and a sandal but really are sandals without the heel strap with the OLD chaco footbed. They break in quick and feel great on my arches when I get off the Bike or am on my feet for several hours. The price is great for the quality of the product and anm very happy Chaco brought this to market.
