Good support, bad toe strap - by , Jul 24, 2020
3/ 5 Stars
I am a woman with a larger foot and bunions, I thought that with the strap being adjustable that this would work, but not so much, I actually bought the same shoe twice, the first I couldn’t return because when I was trying to tighten then the size tag roped off, so I bought a bigger size and they squeak and I just can’t get the sizing right, on the brighter side, there is great support with these shoes for my flat feet, I wish I could return these shoes but, I’m not sure I can be a I wore them, if I had strainer feet they would probably fit perfectly.

Great Everyday Sandal - by , Jul 22, 2020
4/ 5 Stars
The Tegu is excellent for daily use. I walk about 4-6 miles on sidewalks everyday in these, and I'm very pleased--very comfortable and the fit is completely customizable. The straps are a little tricky, and seemed to loosen gradually during walks (until I got some dirt in the strap slots; seems much better now). I would caution folks though that if you plan on walking this much in sandals, maybe consider a different model, one which has a heel strap.

Awesome shoes! - by , Jul 21, 2020
5/ 5 Stars
This is my second pair of 'chongs', and they are surprising consistent despite the 15 year difference. If you want to hike or climb, I would probably recommend a Z1 or Z2 classic pair. These are a major step up from regular slippahs, and they slide off easy at the pool or in a kayak. Takes a few days to get the strap position perfect, but they work when you find it.

New design is far inferior - by , Jul 13, 2020
3/ 5 Stars
I wanted to love these. And based on appearance alone, I do. But the new toe loop design just doesn't work for me. I've tried all sorts of adjustments and readjustments and the result is the same - pain. To be fair, it's only a problem on one foot, but it's not like I'm going to wear only one sandal at a time, right? I loved the old design, but this second strap that crosses to the lateral side of the foot is definitely problematic. So much for the easy-on, easy-off Chacos that I've enjoyed for years and years.

Not comfortable in the toes - by , Jul 12, 2020
2/ 5 Stars
Bought these with the expectation of replacing my old Zongs. These are nowhere near as comfortable as the Zongs and tended to separate my big toe and second toe. Was very uncomfortable to walk any distance in them. I can and have walked miles in my Zongs and regret having bought these

Good with expected Chaco comfort - by , Jul 04, 2020

I've had my Tegu's for several months. I've been a Chaco wearer for more than 15 yrs. I said "good" in my title because I prefer the Hipthong and the Tegu is a good second option since the great Hipthong is in retirement. Outta the box the Tegu's have the same quality and fit I have grown to expect. I've been waiting for a Hipthong replacement and this is the closest I could get. I love, love, love the Hipthong. It was the best non fip-flop on the market because it didn't flop. I could slip right into it and fly with the sole securely attached to my foot. I am a kayak camper, so being able to easily slip in and out of sandals as I go from boat, to tent/hammock, to trail without a heel strap is important to me. Plus having the arch support and comfort of Chaco's around camp is a secondary bonus. They dry fast around water. The Tegu is close to the Hipthong and now that I have broken them in I have some observations. I agree with other posters that the front toe loop does pull your toes appart differently. It takes some getting used to. Sometimes you have to wiggle and get your toes to hook the straps just right. It doesn't hold its shape as well as the hipthong and the front straps folds over. I just want to slip these on and go without having to bend over and arrange straps. Especially as I'm stepping out of a boat and onto shore. Overall I like them and there is nothing else like them on the market. The color options were limited, but I like what I got. The big question is do I buy a second pair for 10 yrs down the road after they put these back into the retirement closet, or do I hold out and hope for the re-release of the Hipthong?

Great casual walking sandal! - by , Jun 27, 2020
4/ 5 Stars
I have several pairs of chacos now and the tegu is great for casual usage. I like that I can step in to these sandals and head out the door; however, without a back strap I have not been so brave as to take them on a trail yet, plus I already have a preferred hiking pair.
