I love them! - by , May 04, 2020

Tennis shoes are too hot and none of them have the arch support I need anyway. I decided to order the Odyssey and I love them! I wore them in the house for a week before I ventured outside in them. Now I wear them every day for my 4 mile walk. Bought them specifically to take to Europe this fall because I think I can wear them for everything. I usually wear a 7.5 but ordered an 8 and can easily wear with or without a thin sock. They also work great with my bunion. No rubbing at all. I really love them. May buy another more colorful pair! I do see that there appears to be a small flaw in the fabic near the heel but it doesn't affect my wearing them.

I love these shoes and I knew I should’ve ordered a size smaller. They are super comfortable and give GREAT arch support but I messed up. :(

Comfy, casual and cute, but great for outdoors! I’ve worn with many things and to many places and would recommend to anyone!

Ordering my second pair! Super comfy and great support! I’m a nurse practitioner and these are my work shoes and love how my feet and legs don’t hurt after long shifts!

I love these! They’re very comfortable I don’t have any issues with blisters. I think they’re pretty cute and love having a close toe shoe that is waterproof! My only concern is if they are going to get stinky. Anyone have experience with that? They seem like they will.

If you have a problem with odor, scrub the footbed of the your shoes with baking soda and water using a soft, bristled brush (like an old tooth brush). Rinse and let air dry.

I haven't had the chance to wear them in the water yet but they were so comfy to put on and wear around the house.

Massive disappointment. - by , Apr 15, 2020

I wanted to love these, as I’ve worn Chacos in various forms (sandals, flips, boots, shoes) for over a decade, and wanted a closed-toe sandal. I bought the black after seeing and trying the “wax iron” in a local store. The toe box is roomy, the tred is good on dry land, and the mesh is comfortable. Unfortunately, the sole feels very different from other pairs: the heel is lower, the arch is shorter and less pronounced, it becomes alarmingly slippery when wet (inside and out) and it’s it just isn’t as supportive or resilient as other pairs of Chaco sandals/water shoes. The black color also looks really cheap—like something you’d get at a discount store. The mesh stays wet *forever* which makes them not great for multi-purpose use. There were MAJOR problems with the straps. The strap that you pull to tighten them was freakishly, comically long. I have average foot volume and average to a bit larger ankles. I never have issues with too much strap, but I had to cut a couple of inches off the pull strap because it was literally trailing on the floor and had a big, loose, loopy tag. The mesh was sized right and was comfortable, but after a couple of casual wearings it had loosened significantly, and When I headed down to the lake I needed to cinch them up and found that either the Z-strap was defective and cut way too long, or there was a bizarre design flaw, but the Z-strap, when pulled as tight as it would go was still loose enough that I could fit my whole hand in there thus making it entirely non-functional. I will have to take them to a cobbler to be altered to make the shoes wearable for anything other than strolling slowly through a grocery store or something. They are utterly useless in their current state, and of course once I cut the long the pull strap, I couldn’t return them. I do not recommend the Chaco Odyssey. At all.

Massive disappointment.

Just what I was looking for - by , Apr 14, 2020

These are great! They are my new go to for working in the yard: the covered toes make me feel more secure and keep leaves and dirt out of my shoes, the sandal back allow my feet to breath in the heat, and the bottom has more grip than any other Chaco I have owned. Very comfortable, can’t wait to try them with socks for winter.

I have 3 pairs of these. One for daily wear, one for going to town, and one for working outside. They are more comfortable than tennis shoes. I wear them with and without socks. Chacos are my go to shoes.

Love, love, love these.
