Very Stable, Perfect for moderate hiking - by , Sep 23, 2020
4/ 5 Stars
I ordered the banded option as I wanted a more secure hold on my foot. I think the banded option is a little more suited to those with thinner feet so for my next pair I would opt for something more classic. However, they're very stable and I've already worn them on a few moderate hikes with and without socks. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a rugged sandal that's good for walks, the beach, or hiking.

Appreciate the new style with one side note - by , Sep 18, 2020

I have been wearing Chacos for years and have had a pair of the classic z2 and the z1 clouds. This is my first pair of the cloud banded and I appreciated the new style. I appreciate having a pair that I can wear with socks. These have been quite comfy. I tend to like to wear my chacos loose (without the buckle strapped tightened down) this is how I enjoy wearing all of my chacos around town and on light hikes. I notice with the banded style the over foot straps both loosen quite easily. This has not been the case for my previous chacos and it could be that these are still new and the straps do not have any debris or dirt accumulated underneath the straps, but it may be based on design. Besides this when strapped down they do not loosen.

Comfortable and secure - by , Sep 17, 2020

I bought these banded Z/Cloud to use while I sent back my original Z1's in for resoling. The banded version has an extra strap that makes them feel even more secure, particularly in my large size (12). The soft tops seem durable while being more comfortable than the original Z1 material. My only dislike is that the straps are a bit long, especially given my narrow feet. I dealt with that by tieing a knot at the end of each strap. Seems to have fixed the dangling end problem.

New Chacos - Banded Z/Cloud - by , Sep 01, 2020

I love my new double strap Chacos. My existing pair is the Z with toe straps. One of the toe straps was always too tight, no matter how many times I pulled the straps. The new double straps fit perfectly and so comfortable. I wear these all the time and love them!

Solid support - by , Aug 29, 2020

Good support ; the classic style w toe thongs would give me a rash between 1st and second toes, especially when wet These give security without that aggravating feature

Fantastic sandal, long strap - by , Aug 27, 2020

This is a fantastic comfortable sandal, easy to hike in and traverse streams, easy to clean when muddy. The only downside is that the strap to tighten the sandal is long, and there's no way to secure it so sometimes it flops while walking and gets in the way

Bought these for my boyfriend when he got his new boat. Perfect for trudging through the water! Also getting lots of use of them out on the trails. He’s a huge fan!

good sandals, great sole - by , Aug 20, 2020

I have heard that Chacos sandals are one of the best sandal brands on the market but in all honesty I don't really see to much difference or feel more comfortable in these then the sandals that can be purchased from the box stores. That being said, the soles on the sandals seem to be very well made and will probably last a few years. The upper straps are not very comfortable and will take some getting use to. I usually wear a 10.5-11 size shoe but I sized down to a 9 in Chaco sizes. The heal strap isn't adjustable, so my foot is all the way at the back of the footbed, and my toes slide under the straps and this gets pretty uncomfortable when walking. Speaking of the strap there is not an obvious way to secure the strap so it just drags along the ground and will wear out very quickly.

Not Impressed - by , Aug 13, 2020

Before getting the banded z I wore the Z2 for three years and loved it. I now work as a field instructor for a wilderness therapy program and wanted something that I could more easily socko without sacrificing the support. The straps on the banded z come loose just by walking in it and I’ve found it impossible to keep it as tight as I need which is problematic when you need to chase an youth in crisis through the Utah backcountry. If you’re okay with some minor slippage then they are great, but if you need it to be exactly the way you want all the time this is not the product for you.
