Good but too casual? I walk 3-5 miles a day as a winery tour guide, through vineyards, pavement, kitchens and cement floored caves. My narrow feet with high arch works great with Chacos and I'm a die-hard fan for 20 years. For the Montrose it took a few weeks for the laces to not feel like wires over the tops of my feet so I had to leave them loose. The leather around the base would scuff up and I had to polish it often to keep them looking nice. After 5 months the sole wore down on the heel exposing air chambers that suck in water and make a squishing sound now. I love these shoes but they didn't hold up to heavy industrial/outdoor use. Better for an office.

My new holy grail shoe I learned about Chaco sandals when I was planning my first backpacking trip to Europe back in college. Everybody raved about the sandals but they were a bit heavy for me so I started off with their flips which were absolutely God-send. Since then, I've turned to Chaco for all my casual shoe needs and had a wonderful time using their Chaco Brody until it just got too old and I just purchased this Montrose. The design is very subdued but sophisticated and my feet felt wonderful right off the bat in the shoes. Beautiful arch support and did not hurt my feet at all. This little guy is going to be my partner for at least the next 2 years as I continue my forays into the city and abroad.

Another comfrtable Chaco shoe. These are my 6th pair of Chacos. Every one fits the same. They are the only brand that I can order a size 9 and have them fit perfectly. I use these for everyday wear and they are very comfortable with adequate support. As far as the previous review about a flimsy sole; these are not hiking shoes. They may be used as a walking shoe. The soles will hold up just fine if you use them for what they were designed for.

Not nearly as supportive or comfortable as the Everett shoe The problem is that the sole is much flimsier than the solid sole of the Everett.

The makeup of the Everett is slightly different from the Montrose to offer different styles for all the unique feet out there. If we can be of any help, please reach out. 888.211.1908. Thank you.

Chacos in the office - Finally Just got these in the mail today and tried them on. First off, the finish is a bit glossier than the pictures, but it is not a shiny dress shoe. The fit is spot on for me in the length; maybe just a tad narrower than I would normally wear but still comfortable. The footbed is what you would expect from Chacos - super comfortable. Good non-slip traction on the bottom, classy waxed cotton laces, and they've got a style that can go with jeans or slacks. I'm glad I can finally wear Chacos in a business/business casual environment.
