The week before my hike up Pikes Peak, a dog named Tillie went to town on my right Chaco, and tore through half of my toe-strap webbing. Lacking the time for a proper repair, I decided to hike the mountain anyway (wearing the said Chaco, of course). The hike couldn't have gone any smoother, and even with the torn sandal, and the added burden of carrying a 60 lb pack, my Chacos performed brilliantly! 13 miles, 7300 feet of elevation gain, rocks, streams, chipmunks...a true Chaco adventure.
