Six years ago, I bought my second pair of Chacos, they were the new style back then, the ZX/2 in the Spicy orange color. I'd had my eye on this shoe for a very long time, and finally took the plunge! They were literally the best pair of footwear I have ever owned, and have been through countless adventures with me. On a recent trip to Madrid I noticed that the webbing was frayed and almost completely cut through on a couple of the straps, and one sole was completely cracked all the way through, they miraculously made it through the entire trek and back to the States in one piece. I sent them into to be evaluated and to have them resoled and re-webbed. However, that meant losing the bright orange spicy color that I so dearly loved. I just received my new/rechaco-ed Chacos, and I hope I can come to love them as much as I loved my other pair.
