At 7 o'clock on a Thursday morning, we began our adventure to the Parara Puru tribe on the Chagres River in Panama. After a two-hour van ride and a thirty-five minute canoe ride, we finally reached the beginning of our hike--a small sandy inlet! Our guide (one of the men from the tribe) led us through and over sand, dirt, rocks, and boulders. Then, the trail opened up into a beautiful hidden waterfall with a swimming hole; it was magical! This was one of my favorite moments during my three month journey. I don't know what I would have done without my Chacos!
