Hipthong Two

I'm on my second pair of hipthongs. These sandals are awesome. I wear them everyday to work, they're just classy enough to work for my business casual office. I've worn these sandals for hikes of up to around 5-6 miles and love them. I have Z/2s that I normally wear for hiking, but hey sometimes you forget to pack things. These have come in great for scrambling up rocks for climbing, and being comfy to slip back into after a route. For those of you that say "not matter how tight I get them my feet slip out" try less tight. if you look at the design the more you tighten the more your feet are pushed back, leave them looser so the straps just control your feet laterally and you'll be hooked, I know I am!

After leaving my old pair at a campsite (sad day, I loved them) I immediately ordered a new pair. I have to say I really do not like the stretchy straps that replaced the old style. they do provide a more "snug" fit as Chaco says but that takes away what I loved about these in the first place, a flip that I could kick off and slide back on with ease and then crank down when needed. With the new strap there is no slipping on, I have to reach down and position the straps every time and even at their loosest they are snug tight. :( When the snow melts i'll be going back to look for my old hipthongs.

I have had these about a month. My flips broke after a number of years and adventures and I got these to replace them. They are much more secure than a regular flip flop, but not like a strap on sandal. They look great and also provide a great tan line. Between these, my Z2s and PedSheds, I should be set for all occasions.
